# Marketplace Catalog — Launch Styles

Eight bundled styles ship with the app. They span the full spectrum from "you can barely tell" to "this is a different photograph." Together they make the argument: *AI photography is already a spectrum, and you should pick where on the spectrum you live, not pretend the spectrum doesn't exist.*

Each style has a [`style.md`](../styles/) in the repo. This catalog is the marketing description — what the user sees in the marketplace.

### 1. True Moment — *Aggressiveness 1*

> *What was there, but with a kind eye.*

The most conservative style. Removes lens dust, sensor specks, minor reflections, and ambient haze. Opens shadows by up to a third of a stop. Never touches a face. Never moves anything. Your grandmother won't notice.

**Best for:** every photo. This is what most cameras *should* do by default.

---

### 2. Clean Light — *Aggressiveness 2*

> *Professional retouching, invisible hand.*

Everything True Moment does, plus: gentle skin texture preservation, color cast correction, mild clarity. The "I just looked good in this one" filter. Eyes are not sharpened, expressions are not changed, nothing is moved.

**Best for:** portraits, group shots, indoor lighting.

---

### 3. Magazine — *Aggressiveness 2 · Editorial*

> *The cover-shoot polish.*

A pro retoucher's hand. Skin smoothing that preserves texture, gentle eye sharpening, subtle teeth whitening, magazine-grade color. The identity is preserved softly: blink? we'll open the eye. Bad expression? We'll nudge it toward the second-best frame.

**Best for:** portraits, fashion, professional headshots.

---

### 4. Golden Hour — *Aggressiveness 3 · Stylized*

> *Same moment, golden light.*

The light changes. Everything else doesn't. We relight the scene as if it were shot in the 30 minutes before sunset — warm rim light on subjects, long soft shadows, a gentle haze in the air. Identity stays strict. Geometry can be adjusted slightly to add sky if needed.

**Best for:** outdoor portraits, street, travel, landscape.

---

### 5. Film Archive — *Aggressiveness 3 · Stylized*

> *Your photo, but on film.*

Kodak Portra 400 by default. Halation in the highlights, grain in the shadows, that specific way that film handles skin tones. Optional preset switches: Kodachrome 64, Tri-X 400 (B&W), Cinestill 800T. No restaging, just an emulsion.

**Best for:** everything, especially portraits and travel.

---

### 6. Restage — *Aggressiveness 4 · Aggressive*

> *Like a director called "cut, again."*

This is where we cross the line, on purpose. Closed eyes opened. Awkward stances straightened. The friend at the edge of the group photo pulled into the frame. The trash can behind your kid removed. Identity preserved softly — these are still the same people, just better posed.

**Best for:** group photos, kids, candid moments, "we'll only get one shot at this."

---

### 7. Wardrobe — *Aggressiveness 4 · Aggressive*

> *What if everyone had a stylist.*

Everything Restage does, plus clothing. Coordinated outfits across a group. Removed wrinkles. Hair tucked behind an ear. The shirt that doesn't quite fit, made to fit. We don't change *who* people are wearing — we change *how* what they're wearing sits on them. Identity is reimagined here: the same person can leave the studio in a different outfit.

**Best for:** family photos, professional team shots, "we should have planned this better."

---

### 8. Dreamscape — *Aggressiveness 5 · Maximum*

> *Memory, but better than you remember.*

Full environmental reimagining. We keep the people and we keep the feeling, and we change basically everything else. Your beach photo becomes the beach in your imagination. Your dinner becomes the dinner you wish you'd had. This is the style that argues the loudest. Some people will hate it. Some people will only ever use this one.

**Best for:** when you don't actually care what was there, you care what it *felt* like.

## What's not in the launch catalog

We deliberately did not ship:

- **Beauty filter / "fix my face."** Identity-strict styles already do this without the dysmorphia framing. We don't want the brand to live in that category.
- **De-age / age-up.** Identity manipulation that we can't reverse for the user later.
- **Style transfer from a celebrity / artist's portfolio.** Rights are murky. Let third-party authors do this if they're up for the licensing math.
- **"AI watermark removal."** Just no.

The marketplace will accept user-authored styles in v1.1; we'll review them against the prompt taxonomy and the [trust contract](./prompt-taxonomy.md#the-trust-contract). Styles that lie about their axes (claim identity:strict but actually restage) get pulled.
